Celebrating Early Years, Foundation Stage and KS2 Success: A Look at Our Pupils' Achievements

As we reflect on the recent academic year, we’re thrilled to share the outstanding achievements of our pupils in the Early Years & Foundation Stage (EYFS),Year 1 Phonics screening and KS2. These milestones are crucial indicators of our young learners' progress and readiness for the next steps in their educational journey.

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Results

The Early Years Foundation Stage is a critical period in a child’s development, laying the foundation for future learning. One of the key measures of success in EYFS is the percentage of pupils achieving a ‘Good Level of Development’ (GLD) across all the Early Learning Goals. This measure encompasses a range of areas including communication and language, physical development, personal, social and emotional development, literacy, and mathematics.

We are proud to announce that 79% of our pupils have achieved a GLD (with the national average being 68%), reflecting their hard work, the dedication of our staff, and the supportive environment fostered by our school community. This accomplishment is a testament to the robust and engaging curriculum that we have in place, designed to nurture each child's unique potential.

Year 1 Phonics Screening Results

The Year 1 Phonics Screening Check is another important benchmark, assessing pupils' ability to decode words using Phonics - a fundamental skill for reading. Achieving a ‘Pass’ in this screening indicates that a child is on track with their phonics development, a crucial component of literacy.

We are delighted to report that 85% of our Year 1 pupils achieved a ‘Pass’ Grade in the Phonics Screening Check. This result highlights the effectiveness of our phonics instruction and the commitment of our teachers to ensuring every child builds a strong foundation in reading.

Key Stage 2 Test/Teacher Assessment Results

Key Stage 2 (KS2) represents a critical stage in primary education, where pupils are assessed in subjects like reading, writing, mathematics, and science. These assessments determine whether pupils have achieved the "Expected Standard" for their age group, preparing them for the transition to secondary school.

We are thrilled to announce that 82% of our Key Stage 2 pupils achieved the Expected Standard across all subjects (with the national average being 61%). These impressive results are a testament to the perseverance of our students, the high-quality teaching they receive, and the collaborative support from the entire school community. Many students also exceeded the Expected Standard, further highlighting their exceptional progress.

Looking Ahead

These achievements across EYFS, Year 1 Phonics, and Key Stage 2 are more than just statistics; they represent the hard work, dedication, and growth of every child in our school. We are incredibly proud of all our pupils for reaching these milestones and demonstrating such remarkable progress.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our teachers, parents, and the wider school community for their unwavering support. Together, we are making a significant impact on our children’s education, setting them on the path to lifelong learning and success.

Here’s to continued growth and achievement in the years ahead!
