Emergency and Closure Procedure

Emergency School Closures

While we always endeavour to keep the school open, safety is our priority. In the event of severe weather or an emergency closure, we use the following procedures to keep you informed.

1. How we will contact you

We will provide as much notice as possible through our primary communication channels:

  • ParentMail: An email will be sent to your registered address as soon as a decision is reached.
  • Class WhatsApp Groups: Notifications will be shared through parent-led groups for immediate awareness.
  • School Website: We will update www.stmaryallsaints.co.uk with any additional information.

2. External Updates

You can also verify the school's status via:

  • Bucks County Website: Check official closure lists at closures.bucks.gov.uk.
  • Local Radio: Listen to local stations for live broadcast announcements.

3. Remote Learning

In the event that the school is closed for a prolonged period, teachers will provide work and learning activities for children to complete at home via Seesaw.

4. Important Reminders

  • Avoid Phoning the Office: Please rely on the websites and messages above. During closures, our limited staff are usually occupied clearing the site and ensuring the building is safe.
  • The "5pm Rule": If the school must remain closed for more than one day, we aim to notify parents by 5:00 pm the evening before. This is to allow you sufficient time to make childcare arrangements for the following day.
