SEND & Inclusion

Letting our light shine and making a difference in everything we do.

SEND & Inclusion: Flourishing Together

At St Mary & All Saints, our staff and governors are passionate about ensuring a high-quality, inspiring education for every single child. We are fully committed to meeting the diverse educational needs of all our pupils, providing exciting and accessible experiences that allow them to grow and let their unique lights shine.

We believe that true inclusion is a living expression of our value of Respect—recognising that every child is equal, valued, and capable of making a meaningful difference.

Early Identification & Personalised Learning

We closely track the progress of every individual child using regular termly assessments, expert teacher insights, and specialised resources to identify any specific learning or developmental needs as early as possible.

When pupils face unique barriers to learning, we design tailored, high-quality interventions to help them overcome these challenges. This personalised approach applies across the entire academic spectrum, ensuring we nurture both our pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and those who are identified as academically more able.

Our Graduated Approach

Where a child is identified as having a particular learning, physical, or behavioural need, we put tailored strategies into place following the Bucks Graduated Approach Model.

To ensure our support is dynamic and effective, we use the Assess, Plan, Do, Review cycle:

  • Assess: We identify specific barriers to learning.

  • Plan: With great Kindness and care, map out exact targets.

  • Do: We deliver targeted classroom support or specialised interventions, building the child's Resilience and confidence.

  • Review: We regularly evaluate progress alongside parents and the child to ensure the support is working.

To provide the highest level of expertise, we work closely with external agencies, including the Specialist Teacher Service, Occupational Therapy (OT), Speech and Language Therapy (SLT), and our attached school Educational Psychologist (EP).

Partnering with Families

We believe that parents and carers are vital partners. You will be involved right from the outset and kept fully informed of your child’s progress through regular meetings.

If a child requires a SEND Support Plan (SSP) or an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), these are always co-written in close, warm collaboration with the family and the child, ensuring everyone works together towards the same ambitious goals.
