Religious Education (RE) is a core subject that explores the Christian faith alongside other major world religions. Collective Worship: The Heartbeat of Our School Family
At St Mary & All Saints, Collective Worship is the heartbeat of our school day. It is a sacred, welcoming space where our community gathers to breathe, reflect, and grow together. While we fulfil our statutory duty for daily worship, our practice goes much deeper; it is a living expression of our Christian vision, inviting pupils and adults of all faiths and none to pause, connect, and consider life’s "big questions."
Our Approach: Inclusive, Invitational, and Inspiring
We believe in nurturing the whole child—spiritually, morally, socially, and culturally. In line with Church of England guidance, our worship is designed to be:
Inclusive: A warm space where everyone belongs and our diverse community is beautifully celebrated.
Invitational: We invite pupils to pray or reflect at their own comfort level, deeply respecting each individual’s personal journey of faith or belief.
Inspiring: We bring Bible stories to life, connecting ancient wisdom with modern values like courage, justice, and hope.

We follow a structured weekly rhythm that balances joyful, whole-school celebrations with quiet, "family-style" reflections

Walking Through the Church Calendar
Our school year is beautifully shaped by the rich traditions of the Christian calendar. These are "mountain-top" moments where our pupils often take the lead in planning and liturgy.
We warmly invite our families and community to join us for these special seasonal services, held either in our school hall or at our lovely linked churches, St Mary & All Saints and St Michael and All Angels:
Autumn Term: Harvest (Gratitude) & Advent (Hope)
Spring Term: Epiphany (Revelation), Lent (Reflection) & Easter (Resurrection)
Summer Term: Pentecost (Community) & Leavers' Services
